A series of demands were made regarding the motor housing
of a medicinal appliance from the Fresnius Medical Care company:
-internally, it should be made of a solid material
-it should, however, be soft outside
-it should be resistant to oil and hydrolysis
-it should achieve noise and vibration dampening,
-and be long-lasting
The solution was a 2K injection moulded component, in which a
PP core is insert-moulded with TPU.
The TPU required was specially developed for this type of
application. It involves a material, based on ester, with foaming
agent equipment and hydrolysis protection.__
